A phrase I have heard many times from expats, which, as “native” Dutch, I can somewhat understand.
The Dutch are famous (or infamous) for being direct. Just 63% of expats describe the local population as generally friendly, and another 24% find it hard to get used to the local culture.

Native Dutch with international awareness
Yes, I’m ‘native’ Dutch, so was my father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and so on….
I’ve worked in several international organizations, commercial roles, technical roles. All different kinds of interactions with non-Dutch professionals. I’ve been yelled at (custom in some cultures), I’ve been invited to people’s homes during international business trips (custom in many cultures, but not really here in The Netherlands!), I’ve probably stepped on toes in other cultures, but I’ve always been open to experience them and I’ve learned about them every day!
Besides, my wife isn’t Dutch as well, she had to learn the Dutch culture as an adult, with all challenges and frustrations. I could help her navigate through the Dutch etiquette.
Her line of work exposes her to expats, my involvement in her work allows me to help these expats, questions about the legal system, political system, but also about cultural aspects.
Many people suffer from anxiety of the unknown, I use hypnosis as a specific tool to break through the wall of (self imposed) limitations. I’ve been trained by the Dutch Institute of Hypnosis as well as the Robbins-Madanes Academy for lifecoaching.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is your coaching practice located?
The BijSturing coaching practice is located approximately 30 minutes south of Amsterdam, in the middle of the “green heart of Holland”. The town is called Nieuwveen and is part of the municipality Nieuwkoop.
Is hypnosis mandatory?
Don’t worry, hypnosis is never mandatory. But keep in mind (pun intended) that some limiting beliefs can ony be solved by circumventing the conscious mind. This is exactly what hypnosis is allowing me to do.
I will never put you in hypnosis if you don’t want it. And I will never make you do something while in hypnosis that you don’t want to do.
Can I share my bundle?
Yes of course! I can imagine the whole family may have similar questions. That’s why the Gold and Platinum bundles can also be used for group (family) sessions, or individuals sessions for individual members of the household.
The option of house visits in the Platinum bundle are ideal for family gatherings.
Depending on the size of the group, it may be wise to schedule 2 sessions back-to-back.
However, if you have purchased an individual session, you cannot use it for a group session. If you’re interested in a single occurence, group session, send me an email and we’ll work something out.
Is your coaching only to get used to live in The Netherlands?
Nope. This specific offer is aimed towards expats, but if you have brought your trauma’s and limiting beliefs with you, I’ll be more than willing to work with you on that too.
